Countr Crush: Summer Dawn
Describe your style in three words:
Comfortable, surprisingly practical, and honest. I don’t think that I’m really trying to hide anything or make myself look different. My body is my body and face is my face.
What’s your shopping superpower?
A trick that your friends envy?
The *only* store that I wander into is my favorite vintage store in Nolita and I always leave with the perfect sweatshirt, denim shorts, or jeans under $100. It’s always there just waiting for me. With vintage you have to just get lucky, I think.
What is your favorite purchase ever?
Anything Chanel! My tweed flap bag, shoes and even down to my Chanel lip balm. I love it all. I will cherish my Chanel purchases for the rest of my life.
WHAT IS THE LAST ITEM YOU PURCHASED AND THAT YOU LOVE?
My Hurom juicer. I’m doing that celery juice thing than you’ve probably seen on Instagram. I got a great deal on my juicer on Black Friday. It’s the best time to buy expensive gadgets like a juicer, Dyson, etc.
WHAT’S NEXT ON YOUR SHOPPING LIST?
I’ve been saving up for a Ziip microcurrent facial device. My friend Dena(@leowithcancer) has one and gave me a facial with it months ago and I’ve been dreaming about owning my own ever since. My skin is pretty clear lately and I’m working on brightening my complexion and healing scars.

WHAT’S YOUR SHOPPING SUPERPOWER?
In the past year or so, I’ve really been trying to declutter my life. When I first moved to New York I was buying so much stuff… constantly. I think I was so excited to finally be here in the city with the best shopping and the coolest stores in the country, so I was stocking up.
I was going to Sephora every week and buying things I don’t need or even really want. I was just buying stuff because I was bored. I’ve been working on purging my closet and my beauty cabinet for months now. I sell my used clothes on Depop and I give unused or gently used beauty products to my friends and family. Now I have a healthy habit of only going into a store when I’m searching for something specific (there’s too much temptation if I’m just wandering around SoHo)
Who’s your style icon?
My mom. It’s so funny how we appreciate our parents more, the older we get. My mom always looks so cool and she is never self conscious. She is always in work out clothes and hardly any makeup and her hair is pulled back with butterfly clips. She’s so funny and is always smiling. She just has this spirit where she wants to make everyone laugh and feel good. She’s always complimenting people and chatting with strangers no matter where we are. Her gift is making people feel comfortable and I hope that I have that too.
